I recently picked up a pair of white heels in Kmart as I was passing through for some fashion related DIY’s. There have been so many times I’ve wandered into an op-shop and seen a vintage pair of white leather heels just like these and I would imagine where the women who owned them years before used to wear them. Were these someone’s wedding day heels or were they saved for their Sunday best, a.k.a, worn to church? Or, were they just the everyday kind of shoe worn to do the grocery shop with a cute little hat? Perhaps a turban or a beret? Unfortunately, the vintage shoes would always be two sizes too small for me and so I would have to leave them at the op-shop and hope that someday I might just find a vintage pair of white low soft leather heels in the right size for me.

But so far I am out of luck! I am yet to find a lovely vintage pair of white high heels in my size so when I saw these ones at Kmart I quickly snapped up a pair for myself. The great thing about Kmart shoes is that they are surprisingly always comfortable and usually last a long time. I decided to wear them for one of my kindy runs this week because Diasy-Layne loves it when I wear high heels and I love to impress her with my mama style. I paired them with my favourite skirt from ‘Tree of Life’ and a turtle neck jumper from Target which I picked up on a whim a couple of months ago. The maroon colour of my jumper brought out the pink flowers on my skirt perfectly and the white heels lifted the grey base colour of my skirt to give the outfit a slightly brighter overall look.

The night before, I had plaited my hair into a basic plait hanging down my back and then bathed in it. This creates some lovely natural curls when you decide to take your plait out. I separated the curls with my fingers and then brushed out my curls gently with a comb in the morning and I was good to go!

This was such a simple and quick outfit that I pulled from my closet without even really ‘thinking’ too much about what I wanted to wear that day ~ which is the beauty of creating a wardrobe that you love. Pieces just begin to go together without too much thought. My daughter’s loved this outfit and I love impressing them by showing off my sense of style. The day that I wore this, I felt amazing! I felt femme and romantic in a sweet vintage way which is my favourite way to feel when I get dressed. So, when I got home I snapped some OOTW pics because this was truly the outfit of the week and I wanted to document this look for a future day.
